Pupil Premium Strategy

What is Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Since 2011-12 every school has received a Pupil Premium Grant for each child who is eligible to receive Free School Meals (FSM) or for any Children who are continuously looked after (CLA) for more than six months. From April 2013, the pupil premium was extended to include children who had been eligible for free school meals at any point during the last six years.

What is Service Premium?

This Service Premium is designed to support children with parents serving in the regular British armed forces.  Thisservice premium is designed to address the additional needs relating to service children’s emotional and social well-being, and the effects of separation from a serving parent deployed on operations.
