British Values

Fundamental British Values

Schools have a duty to promote fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

At Rangeworthy Primary, we strive to do this through:

A strong values based approach which underpins all that we do in school. Our school values are:

  • Friendship
  • Responsibility
  • Respect

Developing children’s understanding of democratic processes through the work of our School Council.

Our Creative Curriculum which incorporates Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural understanding as key elements across all topics.

Striving to ensure that the school is at the centre of the local community by inviting in members of the local community and joining in with community events (e.g. the village Flower Show).

Developing children’s awareness of, and care about, wider world issues through assemblies and worship.

Charity fund raising events, chosen by the children.

A broad Religious Education Curriculum which teaches children about different religions

Regular multi-faith and culture focus weeks including visits to different places of worship

A clear, effective behaviour policy which has the principles of fairness, respect and tolerance at its core.

A strong Personal, Social, Health Education curriculum which develops children’s personal awareness, self-confidence and self-esteem as well as their tolerance of others with different beliefs.

Children’s involvement in rule-making for their own classes.
